It is simply of matter of policy for BSH to accept these predators, most of whom have assaulted children. There is no requirement under the law for any homeless shelter/services provider to accept registered sex offenders as clients. In fact, most shelters in America today refuse them. BSH’s policy forces homeless adults who have been victims of sexual abuse, as children in some cases and as adults in other cases, to be housed together with these predators in either the emergency overnight shelter from October 15th through April 30th or in the First Step/Transitional Living Program year-round.
