HELP BOULDER COUNTY’S OWN HOMELESS MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN — NOT TRANSIENTS HERE FOR “LEGAL” MARIJUANA AND FREE STUFF FROM THE NONPROFITS!
By Max R. Weller
At least half of those homeless adults I see at Boulder Shelter for the Homeless and Boulder Public Library are from outside our county, and many are from outside of Colorado altogether. Potheads, tweakers, and drunkards comprise most of the so-called Travelers welcomed here by our clueless do-gooders.
Almost every morning that I shower at BSH I find one or more fully-clothed dope smokers hiding in a shower stall firing up a pipe, and it ain’t your grandfather’s pipe tobacco with its pleasant aroma they’re smoking . . .
A few below-zero degree nights are NOTHING compared to the aggravation I experience by having to associate with the BUMS. It’s peaceful at my campsite, with plenty of fresh air and the music provided by owls and coyotes to soothe my frazzled nerves.
We’ll see whether or not Boulder City Council will have the gumption to persuade local nonprofits to require a valid photo ID with a Boulder County address and proof of at least one year’s residency from anyone seeking shelter / services at any their facilities. I predict that the HOBOPHILES like Mike Homner, Darren O’Connor, Isabel McDevitt, and others will once again prevail — until such time that a prominent Boulder citizen is robbed, raped, or stabbed by one of the worst-behaved transients. When that occurs, the BUMS will be run out of Boulder so fast your head will spin to watch it happen! The apologists / enablers can go with them, as far as I’m concerned.
