‘Fourth of July in Boulder County . . .’

DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY, STOP ENABLING BAD BEHAVIOR!

By Max R. Weller

Read the list of events scheduled here in Boulder County, CO from the Times-Call.

What about pets, which can be terribly frightened by the noise of fireworks?

Recently, self-styled advocates for homeless people in Boulder County have been pushing the idea of pet ownership by the homeless. The 4th of July is obviously something they haven’t considered, just as they ignore the issues of veterinary care, adequate food and water, and shelter from the elements when necessary.

I’m sorry, but any homeless person who subjects their pet to fireworks for lack of a secure and relatively quiet indoor space is selfish, at best.

Why aren’t the numerous nonprofits who enable homelessness in Boulder County stepping up to shelter homeless pets this 4th of July?
