‘Boulder police arrest second sex offender at Boulder Manor in a month’

Read the report in the Daily Camera. Excerpt below:

Boulder police announced on Thursday afternoon that they have — for the second time in less than a month — arrested a patient at Boulder Manor Progressive Care Center for failure to register as a sex offender.

Albert Gardoz, 54, faces a failure to register as a sex offender charge and was also wanted in Adams and Moffat counties, according to a news release.

Boulder police became aware of Gradoz’s status while investigating another patient at the facility, Jerry Hinchliff, who was arrested in early May on a failure to register as a sex offender charge.

Hinchliff is now facing additional charges after police say they developed probable cause that he inappropriately touched another patient at the facility.

Police are now looking into the possibility that Gradoz had inappropriate sexual contact with other patients.

I saw a uniformed Boulder PD officer and a plainclothes detective remove this individual from Boulder Manor earlier today. This does NOT make me happy, and I can’t understand how any facility intended (at least in theory) to provide both short- and long-term care to vulnerable people can accept sex offenders.

Addendum: This link includes a video report which I watched last night on KDVR Fox31 Denver: 2 unregistered sex offenders arrested at Boulder nursing home.

I don’t understand these places accepting predators, either, Max, any more than I can accept that the shelter here takes in predators when there are so many sexually abused homeless women staying there also.

Thank you for keeping the community aware of what’s going on.
