From a reader-
“We’ve had this van of four men from California living in our neighborhood for the last several months. They park their vehicle in one of the spots next to the park. Sometimes they sleep in the park. Sometimes in the van. Usually at about noon they emerge and pee right in front of our homes. Here is one of them last week peeing on my neighbors fence in her front garden. We called the police who did respond but weren’t able to catch them in the van. Five days later, the van is still here. I have sympathy for people that have fallen on hard times, but some neighborhoods downtown are bearing the brunt of Bridge House and what it brings in more than others. Ask yourselves how long a van full of men would be able to stay parked in front of one of the mansions on Mapleton? Or a house on Table Mesa? How long would they get away with exposing themselves and peeing in gardens in any other neighborhood before it was addressed? It’s not right for the city to do this to our neighborhood.”

How well I know this sort of bad behavior from my north Boulder neighborhood in the vicinity of N. Broadway & U.S. 36: Now, you can see her for yourself . . .

Rumor has it that the nonprofits Bridge House and Boulder Outreach for Homeless Overflow are considering a merger, and this means only one thing: More Homeless People = More Money. Remember this story in the Daily Camera back in 2013? Survey: More than half of Boulder homeless who sought help at center were new to city.

Folks, I’m afraid we ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
