Read Elite Colorado unit nabs hundreds of parolees on the lam in first year in the Denver Post. The repeat sex offender below, with a criminal record dating back to 1974, is crying:
Agents from the Colorado Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit, along with Lakewood police officers, walk Richard Romero to a police car Wednesday. Romero was arrested at the Big Bunny Motel. (Andy Cross, The Denver Post)
Man found on University Hill sidewalk died of drug OD, Boulder coroner rules according to this report in the Daily Camera. You mean the do-gooders couldn’t save him, with all of the millions and millions of $$$ they spend annually?
I actually visited the Main Branch of Boulder Public Library at 1001 Arapahoe last Wednesday. I found the newly renovated second floor to be spacious (enabling you to see what’s happening around you) and it was quiet, too! Given the rainy weather that day, I’d expected BPL to be crammed with the worst-behaved stinkers from Denver and elsewhere, hanging out there after leaving the nearby transient magnet known as Bridge House. This was NOT the case, which gives me a glimmer of hope for the future of our public library. I should visit again, soon, and also make note of conditions in adjacent Central Park.
Some weird homeless chick has been driving around Boulder Shelter for the Homeless very early in the morning for the past few weeks. This morning, as I was standing and waiting at the west entrance (which opens at 6AM), she parked in the Bustop Gentleman’s Club parking lot and asked me to sit in her car and wait. No. HELL NO. Why can’t these yahoos respect the fact that I’m a loner?
Tonight at my campsite: V-8 juice and cheese sandwiches, with coleslaw on the side.
